Chris enjoys a design career that embraces many aspects of lighting with design credits in opera, musical theatre, drama and dance. In 1997 he formed Chris Ellis Lighting to extend his work into architectural design.
He has created opera designs for the National Musikteater Amsterdam, Den Norske Oper, the Royal Opera House, the English National, Welsh National, Scottish and Opera North companies and worked extensively for the Royal Shakespeare, Royal National Theatre and Deutscher Schauspielhaus Hamburg companies.
